The primary mission of the Wallis Police department is to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents and visitors of Wallis through Department programs directed at assisting the public with education and awareness, providing sound and accepted law enforcement practices, and conducting ourselves in a professional manner; never forgetting that our leadership in the community is the best tool for a better tomorrow.
To be successful we require the commitment of our City Government, the citizens of Wallis and the administration and every employee of the Police Department, all working together to maintain the Police Department as a trusted source for assistance.
The foundation of this organization is defined by its employee’s honesty, moral standards, compassion, sincerity, and caring attitude. It is imperative that the following pillars of character be the basis for our actions:
To be worthy of the trust that has been placed in us, each member will conduct themselves with honesty, reliability, loyalty, and integrity. Integrity is the hallmark of the Wallis Police Department and we are committed to the highest performance standards, ethical conduct, and truthfulness in our relationships. We hold ourselves accountable for our actions and take pride in providing a professional level of service to all citizens no matter the race, color, religion, or socioeconomic status.
The Wallis Police Department recognizes that its members are its greatest asset. The members of this Department will respect the citizens and recognize their ethnic and cultural diversity. We will respect each other as professionals and fellow human beings. Every person, regardless of personal status, will be afforded every courtesy and right to which they are entitled. It will be our ongoing effort to bring equal justice and dignity to all we come in contact.
We will strive for personal and professional excellence, dedication to duty, and delivery of quality service to the public. We are part of a team dedicated to the safety and protection of our community. Our actions will reflect intelligent, sincere, efficient and courteous service. The Police Department will make a commitment to provide only the best, most knowledgeable personnel possible, and will strive to keep training and education a priority.
Each member of the Wallis Police Department will treat every person with fairness, justice, and openness. Our interaction with the public will be impartial, without favoritism or prejudice. We will ensure the consequences for misbehavior are consistent, certain, and proportional to the wrongdoing.
We will be compassionate and considerate in our dealings with the community and the victims of crime. The Wallis Police Department has a philosophy and tradition of giving of our time, support, comfort, and selves to improve the lives of those in need.
As highly visible role models in the community, we will be good citizens. We will pursue the common good and participate in making things better by voicing our opinions and serving on community organizations. We will be exemplary in respecting and obeying the law, thereby honoring the principles of democracy to which we are committed.
