NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WALLIS TO CONSIDER PROPOSED ASSESSMENTS AGAINST MILLBROOKE SUBDIVISION SECTION ONE PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF WALLIS MILLBROOKE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ESTABLISHED BY CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 2024-12.

In accordance with Chapter 372 Local Government Code the Assessment Roll for Millbrooke Subdivision Section One properties in the City of Wallis Millbrooke Public Improvement District has been prepared and is on file and open for public inspection in the office of the City Secretary.  A public hearing on the assessment will be held by the City Council as follows:

DATE & TIME: Wednesday, November 19, 2025, 6:00 p.m.

PLACE: City Council Chambers, 6810 Guyler Street #B, Wallis, Texas 77485

COST OF IMPROVEMENTS: $2,416,562.50

GENERAL NATURE OF THE IMPROVEMENTS: The improvements are the construction of water, wastewater, and storm water drainage facilities, street paving, storm water detention facilities, public landscaping and amenities including the engineering, testing, surveying, and permitting costs related to improvements within the District.

BOUNDARIES: The boundaries are described in the final plat of Millbrooke, Section 1, a 11.545 Acre Tract out of the Milburn and David League, Abstract No. 71, City of Wallis, Austin County, Texas.

Written and oral objections will be considered at the hearing.  All interested persons are hereby notified of the described hearing, and of their right to appear and be heard on the matter.

Job Opening/Crime Victims Liaison/Grant Writer

The City of Wallis Police Department is currently seeking a Crime Victims Liaison/Grant Writer.  This individual will provide victims of crime, guidance on how to obtain resources and possible crime victims compensation.  This position will require some travel and schooling depending on individuals background and experience.  The position will also require the individual to attend Crime Victims Conferences.  You will be responsible for maintaining grants and submitting timely reports.  The position will also require to seek out and apply for grants that are available, that would be beneficial to the department.  You will be required to maintain said grants once they are awarded.  This position does not require Law Enforcement experience but it is preferred.  Once selected, a complete background will be conducted on the individual along with being fingerprinted.  The City of Wallis is an equal opportunity employer.  For more information contact Captain Flores at eddieflores@wallistexas.org

Contractors will be moving forward with Grant Project, digging ditches and replacing culverts.  Please do not confront the contractors working on the job, they are only following direction of the Project Manager and  Engineer.  If you have any concerns please contact City Hall 979-478-6712

PER CITY ORDINANCE;  IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON OWNING, POSSESSING, OR KEEPING AN ANIMAL WITHIN THE CITY TO ALLOW THEM TO RUN AT LARGE.  PLEASE CAGE OR FENCE YOUR ANIMALS.

CUSTOMERS CAN NOW MONITOR THEIR WATER USAGE

Customers can now go to www.eyeonwater.com to register.  This website will allow you to monitor your water usage and set up for leak alerts.  In order to register you will need an email address and your account number.  If you have questions call City Hall 979-478-6712.

Credit Card/Debit Card Payments for Water Bill Payments 

The City is now accepting credit/debit card payments for your water bill through The Payment Group (TPG).  You have three options to pay by credit/debit card 1) login into the City website www.wallistexas.org and click on utility payments on the righthand side of the home page, this will take you directly to the link to pay your bill, 2) Go to paytpg.com  or 3) call 877-876-1059.

TEXAS PRIDE DISPOSAL HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Texas Pride Disposal observes (6) six holidays; New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

In the event that your service day falls on a one of the holidays listed, collection will roll to the next regularly scheduled collection day.

CHANGE IN DROP BOX PAYMENTS

We will no longer accept cash payments in the drop box at city hall affective 7-17-2020.  Please make payments in the form of a check or money order. City will not be responsible for cash left in the drop box. Payments are due by the 15th of each month by 4:00pm.  Payments received in the drop box after 4:00pm on the 15th will be considered late.  If the 15th falls on a weekend or city holiday, bill will be considered timely if payment is in our drop box by 8:00am or paid through online billing by 8:00am on the first working day after the 15th.
